  • Rapper T.I., wife arrested on drug charges

    LOS ANGELES -- Authorities say Rapper T.I. and wife Tameka Cottle have been arrested on drug charges after police smelled alleged marijuana coming from their car. Los Angeles sheriff's deputy Mark Pope says the arrests for possession of a controlled substance came late last night on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood during a traffic stop.

  • Original Kermit the Frog being given to Smithsonian

    WASHINGTON -- The original Kermit the Frog from Jim Henson's Muppets collection is coming home to Washington where the characters were created in the 1950s. Today, Henson's widow Jane Henson will donate 10 characters from the early TV show "Sam and Friends" to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. The museum already has a familiar Kermit the Frog puppet made famous on "Sesame Street" and "The Muppet Show." But the original Kermit looked more like a lizard. He was made with ping pong ball eyes and green felt from an old coat thrown out by Henson's mother.

    SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- James Cameron is inviting movie-goers to take an extended tour of Pandora. The writer-director of "Avatar" is hoping fans will come back to the fictional planet to see 9 minutes of new footage when "Avatar: Special Edition" arrives in 3-D theaters on Friday. Cameron says the new footage is sprinkled throughout the film and includes a dramatic action scene showing a hunt for one of Pandora's fantastical animals.

  • Colbert to honor troops returning from Iraq

    NEW YORK -- Stephen Colbert is dusting off his camouflage suit. The comedian will broadcast two special episodes of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" to celebrate the end of combat operations in Iraq and to honor returning troops. On Sept. 8 and 9, the show will fill its audience with Iraq War veterans and active duty service men and women. Others will be beamed in via satellite from Iraq, Afghanistan and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

  • Zsa Zsa Gabor, 93, released from hospital

    LOS ANGELES -- Zsa Zsa Gabor returned home yesterday to recuperate after being hospitalized at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center since July 17 for a broken hip, her husband said. Prince Frederic von Anhalt, the 93-year-old actress' eccentric partner, told reporters gathered outside their Bel-Air mansion overlooking Los Angeles that Gabor is glad to be back.
