Bluegrass festival opens Thursday

Promoter Adams and Anderson LLC, announce that the 25th Annual Mineral Bluegrass Festival will again take place at Walton Park. This festival is co-sponsored by the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department.
The three-day event begins Thursday, July 17, at 12 noon and goes until 10 p.m. daily. Open Stage daily 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
Thursday's terrific lineup features Paul Williams and the Victory Trio, the James King Band, the Chuck Wagon Gang, Raymond Fairchild and the Maggie Valley Boys, Bill Emerson-Wayne Taylor (formerly with the U.S. Navy Band Country Current) and Sweet Dixie, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, (IBMA Gospel Group of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year) will perform one 90-minute show at 8:30 p.m.
Friday's fabulous talent lineup begins at 12 noon, featuring Lonesome Will Mullins and The Virginia Playboys, Dailey and Vincent Band, The Lewis Family (First Family of Bluegrass Gospel), Goldwing Express, Larry Sparks and The Lonesome Ramblers, with one 90-minute show by the legendary Ralph Stanley and The Clinch Mountain Boys at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday's "All-Star" lineup of talent begins at 12 noon and features Carolina Sonshine, Barry Scott and Second Wind, Tim Graves and Cherokee, The Bluegrass Brothers, The Grascals (IBMA Entertainers of the Year 2006 and 2007), with one 90-minute show by The Del McCoury Band at 8:30 p.m. (Grammy Award Winner 2006).
Shows go on rain or shine (tent provided) with tickets available at the gate.
Daily adult tickets are $30 each in advance or $35 at the gate. Three-day adult ticket is $75 in advance and $85 at the gate. Children 6-13 are $40 advance and $45 at the gate for three days and $15 daily; under 6 are free with parent. Please bring your own lawn chair.
