Wine time

The Orange County Chamber will host the Pick of the Piedmont Fall Wine Festival Oct. 25 and 26 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event will be held at Booster Park on Route 20 and features entertainment, cooking demonstrations, food, artisans and crafters, and fun for kids.
Enjoy watching Orange County's own Skydive Orange as they "float in" and land on site! A variety of live musical entertainment with jazz and folk performances will provide easy listening for your afternoon enjoyment.
Festival goers can pick up new techniques for cooking with featured wines during demonstrations featuring Orange's own Randy Cooper of Elmwood at Spark's.
This year's fall festival will feature a feast of goodies. Folks can enjoy a variety of breads, cheese, crab cakes, barbecued chicken and, of course, hot dogs for the kid in all of us. Bring a blanket and picnic on the grounds!
Showcased wineries are: Barboursville Vineyards & Historic Ruins, Burnley Vineyards and Daniel Cellars, Castle Gruen Vineyards and Winery, Cooper Vineyard, DelFosse Vineyards and Winery, Horton Cellars Winery, Keswick Vineyards, Lake Anna Winery, North Mountain Vineyard, Peaks of Otter Winery, Rockbridge Vineyard, Sans Soucy Vineyards and Winery, Spring Creek Wine Cellar, and Stone Mountain Vineyards.
The $12-per-person advance ticket price for admission is good through Oct. 22 and includes a commemorative glass. For designated drivers or youth ages 13-20, tickets are $5 each. Children under age 13 are admitted free.
The festival will be held rain or shine. Identification is required upon entrance and no outside alcohol or pets are allowed.
