THE YOUNG AT HEART CLUB
Dec. 2, election of new officers, living wills, organ donations and other end of life documents. The Young at Heart Club meets every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Orange Ruritan Building at the intersection of Route 20 and 522. MONTPELIER DAR
The Montpelier Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will have a Christmas covered dish luncheon meeting Thursday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at Hebron Lutheran Church, Madison. Please bring a covered dish to share. The program, "A Visit with Mrs. Henry Fry of Meander Plantation" will be presented by Betty Blane of Shadwell DAR chapter.

POSITIVE
PARENTING CLASSES
The Parenting Cooperative Program offers parents and caregivers research-based methods and techniques, proven to stimulate healthy growth and development in youth, ages 4 - 12. Christmas season starts at the St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church Christmas Bazaar Dec. 4, from 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Shop a wide selection of ornaments, blankets, quilts, pillows, pins, vests, placemats, knitted and hand-painted items, table runners, table toppers and wreaths, and Christmas decorations. Orange Garden Club's Christmas boutique is Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Dec. 5, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Arts Center in Orange featuring greenery items, holiday baked goods, and unique ornaments and gift items.

HABITAT CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Orange County Habitat for Humanity's Christmas bazaar will be Dec. 4, 1 - 8 p.m. and Dec. 5, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Orange Presbyterian Church This event is a fundraiser for Habitat's next project. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
The Orange Community Church of Christ's seventh annual Christmas Bazaar is Dec. 4 and Dec. 5, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., handmade items, costume jewelry, wreaths, children's items, and mouth-blown Christmas ornaments. TOPS CRAFT BAZAAR
The annual TOPS craft bazaar and bake sale will be Dec. 5, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the East Orange Ruritan Building in Unionville. The craft bazaar will feature wood and hand-painted crafts, holiday floral arrangements, wreaths, decorations, gift baskets, needlework and many inexpensive gifts. Also, enjoy fresh baked goods, homemade candies, the regifting table and raffles. Breakfast and lunch available. Free candy canes for kids.

LOW LIONS TREE OF LOVE
The Lake of the Woods Lions Club will light a Christmas season Tree of Love, dedicated to ailing or deceased friends and relatives of contributors, Dec. 5 at the Wilderness Center at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and contribute. Donations pay for lights memorializing individuals whose names will be read. CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT
Dec. 5, from 3 - 5 p.m., Orange Downtown Alliance will present a free, Christmas celebration of traditional, gospel and Christmas music from Zion Baptist Church, Little Zion Baptist Church and Shady Grove Baptist Church choirs at the Orange Train Station on Short Street. GMS HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Grymes Memorial School's first annual holiday bazaar is Dec. 5, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Admission is free and the event encourages consumers to shop locally while raising educational funds for Grymes Memorial School. The bazaar feature foods beverages, holiday decorating items and wares from artisans and crafters. Special events include a raffle, silent auction, horse-drawn carriage rides, and Santa's Gift Shop for Kids. For a small, $7 donation, folks can reserve a spot to have breakfast with Santa! BAKED GOODS SALE
The Dolley Madison Garden Club will host its annual holiday baked goods sale at the Orange Farmers' Market, held at the Orange Train Station Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Cakes, pies, cookies and other holiday treats will be available. Stuffed toys will be given away to shoppers making a minimum purchase. Proceeds benefit DMGC community projects.

CAROLS, CANDLES
AND SANTA
The Town of Gordonsville invites the community to the 26th annual Christmas caroling and candle lighting ceremony Sunday, Dec. 6. The Exchange Hotel Civil War Museum will open 3 p.m. until 6:30pm. There will be music; refreshments and that jolly old man himself will be there for the children. At 6:30 p.m. Santa will lead the group in a procession from the Exchange Hotel down Main Street to the front lawn of the Town Hall. Once we are at the Town Hall we will have the Candle Lighting Ceremony.

ACS FUNDRAISER
American Cancer Society Relay For Life Caped Curesaders team will hold a fundraising night at Mama's Pizza, Locust Grove, Dec. 7. Part of the proceeds from Mama's Pizza sales from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. will be donated to the Caped Curesaders. NAACP CHRISTMAS
PROGRAM
The Orange County Branch NAACP annual Christmas program, originally scheduled for Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. has been cancelled.

SINGING CHRISTMAS TREE
Orange Baptist Church is reviving a decades-old holiday tradition: the Singing Christmas Tree. This year, there will be performances Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Free tickets are available in the church office; nursery provided. Call 672 - 2996.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
The Mine Run Volunteer Fire Department will serve breakfast Dec. 12 from 6 - 11 a.m. Menu: pancakes, sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs, baked apples and beverages. Santa will arrive by fire truck and visit from 8 - 10 a.m.

ORANGE AARP
Orange Chapter 5373 of AARP will meet Dec.14, for the monthly meeting at the Orange County rescue squad building at 12 noon. This will be our Christmas meeting and a covered dish lunch. HANDEL'S "MESSIAH"
The annual Singing of Handel's "The Messiah" will take place Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Orange. All singers and listeners are welcome. No rehearsal necessary. This year's director is Allen Miller, minister of music at Orange Baptist Church accompanied by William Drake, organist, and a 15-piece string ensemble. A reception will follow the singing. Admission is free. A donation of nonperishable food would be greatly appreciated.

19th CENTURY CHRISTMAS
Friends of Wilderness Battlefield invites the public to join the Lacys for a 19th Century Christmas event at Ellwood Dec. 19. Experience the way the Lacy family would have celebrated in the 1800s. Santa will be present to greet children from 9 - 11 a.m. Holiday concert by Joysong Chorale, directed by Linda Long. FLEA MARKET/BAKE SALE
Cause 4 Paws will have a holiday flea market and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. It will be held in the Holcomb building at Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove. Cub Scout Pack 19 from Lake of the Woods has joined forces with Coffee with a Cause on Route 20. The cub scouts and Cubmaster will collect the donations weekly at Coffee with a Cause, and deliver them to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

FAIR BOARD FUNDRAISER
The annual semi-formal Valentine's dance sponsored by the Orange County Fair Board is Feb. 13 with cocktails from 6 - 7 p.m., dinner from 7 - 8 p.m., and dancing from 8 - midnight with music by Silvercreek. The Celebrate Orange Committee needs volunteer help to plan and carry out Picnic in the Park, which will be held Monday, July 5.
