LOW LIONS YARD SALE
Bargain hunters will have a field day at the LOW Lions yard sale, Oct. 3, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. The event will cover well over an acre of the parking lot at Germanna Community College. Thousands of items will be for sale, including furniture and other furnishings, kitchenware and garden equipment, Christmas items and athletic gear, medical equipment and luggage, and much more. Proceeds will benefit the Lions Club's benevolence activities.

Parents of 10 - 14-year-olds cam participate with their children in a free strengthening families program once a week. Sessions are three hours and the program lasts for seven weeks. County residents can properly dispose of hazardous waste (paint, turpentine, wood sealer, wood stain, gasoline, oil, insecticide, herbicide, household cleaners and pool chemicals) Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon at the O.C. Landfill on Porter Road. Proof of residency required; waste from commercial establishments, explosives, ammo, radioactive waste and infectious waste not accepted. First come-first served.
