Brockman attends forum
Paul Brockman, a rising freshman at Bridgewater College, has been selected to attend the College's inaugural Flory Fellows Forum. The forum, sponsored by the Zane D. Showker Leadership Institute at Bridgewater College, will be held on campus Aug. 3-8 and is open to all current and incoming Flory Fellows.
The theme for the forum is "Service and the Academic Citizen." Participants will be challenged to push the boundaries of their knowledge, explore unchartered intellectual territory, and experience community service-learning. The forum will include sessions on Bridgewater College traditions, motivational leadership, conflict resolution, goal-setting and team building. A service-learning project and a ropes course will provide hands-on learning.
The Flory Fellowship of Scholars is a tribute to Dr. John S. Flory, Bridgewater College's president from 1910-1919. The honors program consists of stimulating and interesting opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Over the course of their college career, students take a minimum of six honor-designated courses ending with a capstone seminar.
Brockman, a music major, is the son of Bob and Kris Brockman of Orange.
