Aging Together in Orange is pleased to announce the fifth annual Community Conversation on Aging, to be held 1 p.m. Tuesday May 12 at Rhoadesville Baptist Church. With the theme of the conversation "Accentuate the Positive," we will focus on ways to have a more positive attitude even when the times are tough. During our conversation we will explore how involvement in activities, getting needed support, and giving back to the community can help us keep an upbeat outlook.
Our guest speaker Phil Audibert is a reporter for the Orange County Review (The Insider section), past WJMA Radio news director and the author of Local Folks, sketches of Orange County personalities. Phil has won numerous awards for his stories and brings a breadth of knowledge and a love of region to his presentations.
Bonnie Vermillion will be with us again to demonstrate the Lebed method of healing through movement. These are gentle exercises to music that can be done standing or seated.
Before the conversation, Orange County TRIAD's annual Art of Aging Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the church's new fellowship hall. This event offers valuable resource information on senior safety, health care and more. After the complimentary lunch at 12 p.m., join us in the church sanctuary by 1 p.m. for the community conversation.
For more information and to let us know if you plan to have lunch with us please contact Nancy Rhoades, county resource specialist at (540) 718-0620 or Elaine Anderson, TRIAD coordinator at (540) 672-1536. Come be a part of positive solutions for aging.
