In honor of Zachary Taylor Appreciation Day and in celebration of 225th anniversary of the birth of 12th United States President, Major General Zachary Taylor, representatives of local, state and federal government will honor one of Orange County's most famous native sons.
Locals, guests and dignitaries will gather in Taylor Park. Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the Taylor's 225th birthday with citations and ceremonies, and with a presentation of first day issue Zachary Taylor Dollar coins to county schoolchildren.
The Town of Orange and Orange County, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the United States Army, the United States Mint, the Taylor Family Association and the James Madison Museum will celebrate Taylor's contributions to our country with citations from the governor of Virginia and the General Assembly, as well as officials from the Town of Orange and Orange County. The U.S. Army Band and Orange County High School JROTC will present colors.
All are welcome to attend.
