  • County condemns Taylor property

    One of the more dramatic property condemnations in Orange County ended unceremoniously Tuesday evening. A 1.34-acre agriculturally-zoned parcel adjacent to the Orange County Airport and owned by Helen Marie Taylor will be purchased by the county at a price set by the court.

    Late last week, the Orange County Extension Office held its annual third grade Ag. Day, which enables third grade students throughout the county to travel to the Northern Piedmont Agricultural Research Station to learn about all things agriculture.

  • Landfill must close by end of the year

    By the end of 2012, Orange County will usher in a new era in its waste disposal history, closing the 39-year old landfill on Porter Road and opening a new facility meeting department of environmental quality regulations.
