Alleged bank robber behind bars

A man who police say robbed an Orange County bank is behind bars.
According to Orange County Sheriff Mark Amos, Gordon G. Phillips of Culpeper has been identified as a suspect in a March 13 robbery of the Wachovia bank on Route 3. In addition to the Orange bank heist, Phillips has been accused of similar crimes in other localities, authorities said.
Phillips is being held without bond at the Fauquier County Jail.
Amos said the case remains under investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the FBI.
