Please run, Mark

To the editor,
We are in a time when special interest individuals and groups desperately desire to control Orange County. I urgently request Mark Johnson to reconsider running for the board of supervisors.
Having had the privilege of serving on the board of supervisors with Mark, I found him to be a deep thinker with vision well into the out years. One of his many attributes I admired was his ability to not bend or get swayed by special interests. In today's environment, this is especially important. His courage, vision, integrity and forthrightness were always above reproach. Mark's tireless advocacy of honest government always prevailed during my tenure with him. We may not have always seen issues exactly alike (Who does?), but I could never question the sincerity of his belief. I found him to be one who evaluated an issue and then voted based on what he believed to be best for Orange County and its citizens. This is an enormous trait to possess.
Mark, please reconsider and run again. Orange County needs you!
