To the editor,
On April 14, I was driving through Orange to Route 15 and stopped at the Orange McDonald’s. Apparently my iced coffee was more important than my wallet, which I left in the ladies' room. I missed it when I stopped for another coffee at a Gettysburg, PA McDonald’s. All the customers and staff in Gettysburg were feeling quite sorry for me and assumed the wallet and its significant contents were long gone.
How mistaken! Their cheering and applauding went on for minutes after I learned that the wallet had been given to the manager in the Orange restaurant.
I completed my trip to upstate New York for a family emergency, knowing my wallet was safe, and returned last Saturday to learn the name of the honest, kind and caring young lady who turned in my wallet. Kelly Osborne, a McDonald’s employee, is an asset and role model to her family, employer, colleagues and community. Although I have not met her, I am awed by her integrity, humility and blessed spirit. The gracious manager, Barbara, kept my wallet in safe-keeping and told me she is proud of Kelly and all her employees who exhibit the highest customer service values. Thank you Kelly and thank you Orange McDonald’s.
