Walmart wouldn't affect intersection

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

To the editor,
If the Walmart construction is approved by the Orange County supervisors, the entrance to Walmart should not require any major changes to the intersection of Routes 3 and 20. From the traffic intersection on both sides of Route 3, there is an excess of 50 feet on the space from Route 3 to the parking lot McDonald's side. On the 7-Eleven side, Route 3 is greater than 50 feet to the road adjacent to the parking lots for the strip mall. By adding two lanes on both sides of Route 3 west of the intersection, these lanes could be turn lanes to Walmart on down to anywhere past the strip mall on up to across the road from the small dam at Lake of the Woods. On the eastward side of Route 3 to the light, there would be ample lanes for right turn to Orange. Leave the intersection as it is and just add longer turn lanes where it is needed for the expected volume of traffic.
Route 20 can remain the lanes it already has; we do not need the speeding traffic that we have on Route 3
