» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Orange County voters elected unopposed Phyllis Yancey to her sixth term as Orange County Treasurer Tuesday.
Yancey has run unopposed in her last five elections, after first winning a seven-way race for her seat in 1991.
This year, she collected 7,464 votes.
"It is an honor and a privilege to be the treasurer of Orange County and I look forward to serving in that capacity for years to come," she said. "We work closely with all the departments in the county and with the Orange County Public Schools, [as well as] several other state and local agencies. The responsibilities that we have in the treasurer's office are very important to the fiscal welfare of Orange County. I want to continue to be a viable part of that governing process."
Yancey said she will continue to strive for excellence in the office and continue to maintain integrity of the records and the office.
