» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

The Orange County School Board completed its annual reorganization Tuesday afternoon, though very little was actually reorganized.
District 4 board member Jerry Bledsoe will keep his position as chairman after being elected unanimously by his fellow board members. District 3 board member Judy Carter will also keep her seat as vice chairman with a 5-0 vote. Laura Byram will remain clerk and Yvonne Dawson will remain deputy clerk, both also by a 5-0 vote.
Other appointments include District 5 board member Jim Hopkins as the board's delegate for the annual Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) Delegate Convention and District 1 board member Lou Thompson will serve as alternate delegate. Thompson will also continue as the representative to the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School Board and as the board's representative to the Orange County Education Foundation. Newcomer Sherrie Page (District 2) will take over for former board member Donna Waugh-Robinson as the representative to the Head Start Policy Council Board and Hopkins will remain the representative to the VSBA Insurance Services Board.
