FOUR COUNTY PLAYERS
Cakes’n'ale and Four County Players present “Looking Glass Alley, Tales of the Brothers Grimm” which will be playing from Oct. 30 - Nov. 8.  Thursday, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 are pay what you can, Friday and Saturday are at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 2 is the matinee at 2:30. TRUNK OR TREAT
Come join us as we gather for our third annual Trunk or Treat. ODA HALLOWEEN EVENT
Orange businesses are once again preparing for trick-or-treaters. On Friday, Oct. 31, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., the Good Witch will be at Taylor Park with goodies for children through age eight. St. Thomas’s Church will offer free books and civic groups and businesses will be in the park with treats for all the goblins. Children can trick-or-treat at participating businesses (look for orange and black balloons), throughout the Town of Orange and enjoy the Office on Youth and Town of Orange Police Department activities at the Train Station. The Child Safety Fair will be a featured event for children and their parents. HAUNTED FARM
Haunted Farm at 27496 Tatum Rd., Unionville Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 (rain date Nov. 7 and Nov. 8) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. donations will go to Special Love, Inc., benefits children with cancer. Haunted hayrides, moon bounce, food, costumes, candy, haunted woods, games, ghost stories, family hayrides, clowns, face painting, haunted cemetery. Children must be accompanied by adult.

ABSENTEE VOTING
In addition to regular office hours the voter registrar’s office at 146 Madison Road will be open Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for absentee voting for the Nov. 4 2008 General Election. Call (540)672-5262.

TOURAMENT
Orange and Madison County 4-H invite you to support the Denny Wayland Memorial Fund and local 4-H programs by participating in the third annual Denny Wayland Memorial Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament, Mon., Nov. 3 at Greene Hills Club golf course near Stanardsville. Shotgun start at noon; please arrive no later than 11:15 a.m. Cost is $320 per team or $80 per player; registration fee includes 18 holes of play and cart, lunch, fried chicken, practice balls, more than $600 in prizes, soda wagon, hole-in-one special prizes. APPLES AND ART
A benefit fall festival art show will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gordonsville Presbyterian Church. “Apples & Art” features the work of local artists and includes: acrylics and oils, jewelry, photography, pottery, glass art, church cookbooks and more. ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR
The 14th Annual Belmont Arts and Crafts Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Road, Spotsylvania, VA. MAAC MEETING
Come to the Community Center at the town’s public works building on Warren Street Nov. 11 from 9 am until no later than noon. UNITY CONCERT
The first annual Unity Concert will be held Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Orange County High School Field house. It will be unforgettable, with neighbors and friends coming together to unite. The night will begin at 7 p.m. with several local church choirs singing the night away. The grande finale will be a community sing-a-long with some of your favorite Christmas carols. AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM
The AARP Tax-Aide program needs volunteers in the Orange area from Feb. 1 to April 15, to assist middle and low-income area residents in preparing their income tax returns. Volunteers will receive training in basic computerized income tax preparation during December at Lake of the Woods and must pass an IRS approved exam. You need not to an AARP member to volunteer. RAPIDAN BETTER HOUSING
Rapidan Better Housing is now accepting applications for its housing repair assistance program to include installing first-time wells and drain fields. Homeowners must be income-eligible, live full time in their home and be able to get an Orange County Health Department permit for a needed well or drain field. SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED

RRCSB-AAA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Protective Money Management Volunteer Program of Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board/Area Agency on Aging is looking for volunteers in Orange County to assist seniors and clients of the agency with financial management. This program assists senior citizens and clients with limited income who may be having difficulty paying bills or managing their finances. The Protective Money Management Program is sponsored in part by AARP. Volunteer money managers are carefully selected, trained and monitored. Each volunteer is paired with a client who needs assistance with financial affairs. GIRLS COMETS
The rising U13 Culpeper Girls Comets of ODSL Division I are looking to add a few strong athletic and dedicated players to their roster as they move to 11v11 format for the fall 2008 season.
