SPAY/NEUTER TRANSPORT
The Orange County Humane Society will be having low cost spay/neuter transports to the Shenandoah Valley Spay & Neuter Clinic in Harrisonburg once a month through 2009. Please call the humane society voicemail, (540) 672-0069, to schedule your dog or cat. All animals must be registered in advance.

R.A.D. CLASS

D.A.R. MEETING
The Montpelier Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the Stanardsville United Methodist church. RRMRC WANTS YOU!
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps (RRMRC) recruits, credentials, and trains volunteers to respond to public health emergencies. COACH WOOLFOLK NIGHT
Seeking OCHS baseball alumni who played 1972 - 1999 to help honor dedication and contributions of mentor, teacher, leader and coach Woolfolk May 8.  A tent will be set up at Porterfield Park during OCHS vs. Louisa baseball game. CSWCD WORKSHOP

BENEFIT BOOK SALE
The Friends of the Library book sale will continue through May 9 at the Orange Volunteer Fire Company fairgrounds. Proceeds benefit the Orange Volunteer Fire Department and Orange County libraries.

BENEFIT FLOWER SALE/CAR WASH
Caleb’s Faith will be having a car wash at Altman’s Tire on Saturday May 9 starting at 8 a.m. The price for cars is $5 and trucks are $6. We are also having a flower sale and will be selling lemonade. The money raised will go towards a scholarship for a graduating senior at Orange County High School.

ORANGE AARP
The Orange Chapter 5373 of AARP will meet May 11 at 1 p.m. at the Orange County Rescue Squad building for the regular monthly meeting. The program will be presented by a Master Gardener. RRCSB-AAA MEETING
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging (RRCSB-AAA) will hold its regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, May 12, at 1 p.m., at its office at 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper. ORANGE V.F.W. MEETING
The Orange V.F.W. Post #2217 regular meeting is May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Post home on Brick Church Road. BASIC PISTOL CLASS
The NRA certified instructors will conduct a basic pistol class to raise funds for Cedar Mountain Youths Inc. 4-H Teen Adventure Club
Are you between the ages of 13 and 19?  Do you like being outside and trying new and challenging activities?  Maybe the 4-H Teen Adventure Club could be for you!!  As of right now this club does not exist, however it can be formed if there is enough interest.  This club would take trips for camping, hiking, canoeing, and maybe white water rafting all while learning about the outdoors, team work, and natural resources.  Please call Ashley Elgin at the Orange Extension Office, 540/672-1361, if you may be interested in this club.

7th VA INFANTRY VIGIL
The Seventh Virginia Infantry Regiment, Company A, will present the 17th annual 24-hour vigil At Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, from 10 a.m. May 30 to 10 a.m. May 31. Confederate reenactors will guard the Confederate grave in half-hour shifts. Late afternoon May 30, and the morning of May 31, buried soldiers’ names will be read. Closing ceremony is 10 a.m. Sunday. LIVING HISTORY WEEKEND

The Madison County High School Class of 1999 10-year reunion will be Saturday, July 25 at the Madison Fire Hall from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Live DJ, full-course meal, door prizes, games, and slideshow (please submit pictures before June).
