Dave Bennett’s “Tribute to Benny Goodman” concluded the current season with a smashing performance by a septet of talented performers. Bennett, the 24-year-old clarinetist, wowed a near capacity audience.
Brochures for the 2009 - 2010 season, our 40th, were mailed on April 16 to all current subscribers. Brochures are available by calling 825-1342 or 825-8863.
The new season opens September 24 with Daniel Rodriguez, the New York City “policeman tenor” who electrified audiences after Sept. 11, 2001 with his a cappella rendition of the national anthem and “God Bless America.“
The season continues with: “Red, Hot Hollywood!“, a song and dance spectacular tribute to the Hollywood musical; an encore performance by the Barbary Coast Dixieland Show Band; the Hunt Family Fiddlers, a family with seven children who fiddle, sing and dance up a storm; the Garth Newel Piano Quartet, who bring fresh and innovative insights into chamber music repertoire; and, concludes with another encore performance, “Rhythm and Shoes,“ who delight audiences with high-energy dancing, and a variety of instrumental and vocal music.
This unbeatable subscription series continues to be $40 (single adult) if you take advantage of the early bird special, which ends June 1. See the brochure for family rates, and the rates after June 1.
