Nichols Gallery Annex in Barboursville announces its Small Works summer exhibition with an opening Sunday, Aug. 16 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition features 12 artists from the Mid-Atlantic and continues through Sept. 27.

Back by popular demand, acclaimed watercolor artist Catherine Hillis presents Flower Power, a one-day workshop dedicated to painting flowers and glass at The Arts Center in Orange. 

Being selected for a spot in the world-renowned American modern dance company is a major achievement at such a young age and Hopkins, who calls Orange her hometown, could not be more delighted.

The Writer’s Eye is an annual literary competition organized by the docents of the museum and is now in its 19th year and Grymes students have participated in this competition since 1994.

Fifty-plus area artists, musicians, authors and film makers have teamed up with four contemporary art galleries and the Arts Center In Orange in an ambitious parade of talent displaying the artistic perspective on the Virginia Piedmont while testifying to the sheer size of the arts community in Orange County.

A special tour of freedman’s farm and Confederate winter camp site is Sunday, Nov. 2.
