GOSPEL SING
Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Orange, will host a gospel sing Nov. 13 featuring the Shenandoah Baptist Boys. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with a covered dish dinner. RUMMAGE SALE
The Woman’s Club of Orange will sponsor a fall rummage sale Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Orange. Items for sale will include clothing, jewelry, decorative pieces, household items, kitchen gadgets, baskets, vases, books, tapes, CDs, linens, toys and collectibles.
HOLIDAY BAKE SALE
On Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Cheerful Workers of Walker’s United Methodist Church will hold a holiday bake sale at the church. All proceeds from are used to support the many ministries of this group, from outreach to both local and global missions providing help and support for the homebound of the church. The Cheerful Workers is a United Methodist Women’s group and has been active at Walker’s UMC for several years. This sale offers an opportunity to purchase holiday baked treats at reasonable prices, including the Cheerful Workers’ famous fruitcake, which will sell for $12. FALL FESTIVAL
Gordonsville Baptist Church is having their annual fall festival and Brunswick stew Saturday, Nov. 14. The doors will open at 10 a.m. with homemade Christmas ornaments, miscellaneous handmade craft items and homemade baked goods. There will also be a white elephant room. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. consisting of all-you-can-eat stew and trimmings including homemade cake or pie. The price for lunch is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
SPAGHETTI DINNER
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Barboursville, will be having its annual spaghetti dinner Nov. 14 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $6 adult and $3 children. Anyone wishing to purchase advance tickets should contact Margaret at 832-3980 or Donna at 672-2720.
DAY OF CELEBRATION
The Drama and Praise Ministry of New Fellowship Christian Center will host a day of celebration in dance, mime and drama Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Orange Presbyterian Church, Orange. Featured guests will include Dr. Artie McGill, Pastor of The Healing Christian Center Ministries of Brooklyn, NY; prophetess June Grayson and Talisa Davis of Tulsa, OK; and New Fellowship’s mime, dance and drama teams. CHOIR ANNIVERSARY
The Anointed Voices of Union Baptist Church, Trevillians, will be celebrating their anniversary Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. Various local choirs will be special guests.
SING-ALONG
The Lake of the Woods Church “Making Joyful Noise” is pleased to host a zestful sing-along featuring Dale E. Wise, professional accordionist, vocalist, and composer for the next concert for the LOW Church and community on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the worship center. This songfest of hymn singing, with audience participation, will be full of entertainment and energy. MPC DINNER
There will be a steak or pork chop dinner at Mitchells Presbyterian Church Nov. 14 from 5-7 p.m. The menu will include steak or grilled pork chops, vegetables, salad, dessert, bread, beverage, etc. The price is $12 for adults, $5 for children 7-12, and children 6 and under will eat free. CONCERT
Harmonheirs Southern Gospel group will perform a free concert at Trinity United Methodist Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.
FUNDRAISER
A fundraiser worship service for the Ernest Terrell/Victoria Williams Scholarship Fund will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Orange, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Fred Sales accompanied by his choir from Rising Sun Baptist Church, Louisa. A repast will be held before the service.
MEN’S DAY
Union Baptist Church, Trevillians, will be celebrating men’s day Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. Minister Prentiss Jeffcoat, associated minister of New Life Community Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher for the afternoon. Dinner will be served following the morning service.
USHER DAY
Orange Grove Baptist Church will host their annual usher day Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. The Rev. James Jackson of New Journey Baptist Church, Stafford, will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served following the morning service.
YOUTH TALENT SHOW
Area youth are invited to showcase their talent in the second “The GOSPEL” Youth Talent Showcase Saturday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Center, Rixeyville. Youth may participate in the following categories: solo, duo/group, dance/step, spoken word or instrumentalists. Youth choirs are encouraged to participate. Winners will be awarded trophies and medals as determined by local judges. The registration fee is $10/per entry due by Nov. 14. PASTOR ANNIVERSARY
Nazareth Baptist Church will celebrate the fourth anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Dr. Gene T. Lee, Nov. 22. The 11 a.m. guest preacher will be the Rev. Journey Beasley, associate minister at Elk Run Baptist Church, Madison. The 3 p.m. anniversary service guest preacher will be Rev. Jacob Phillips, pastor at White Oak Run Baptist Church, Rapidan.
JOINT THANKSGIVING SERVICES
The Orange County Ministerial Association encourages you to worship in one of many joint Thanksgiving services in the area. On Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Orange Assembly of God, the Rev. Tom Barnard, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will be preaching and the community chorus will be providing special music. Please bring canned/dried goods for Love Outreach, the local food pantry. An offering will also be taken for Sheltering Arms homeless ministry and Christian Emergency Council, a cooperative ministry of churches in the county of Orange assisting residents with rent, fuel, electric and pharmaceutical bills. Also on Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Gordonsville, the Rev. Deborah Koontz, pastor of Gordonsville United Methodist Church will be preaching. Please bring canned/dried goods for the community food pantry. An offering also will be taken for the Gordonsville Christian Emergency Council. On Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Unionville, the Rev. Tom Schafer, pastor of the Lake of the Woods Church, will be preaching. PRE-THANKSGIVING
SERVICE
The Main Uno Baptist Church will be having its annual pre-Thanksgiving service on Nov. 25. Praise and worship will begin at 7:30 p.m. with service beginning at 8 p.m. For more information, call 672-4261.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
The Orange Circuit United Methodist Women will have their annual Christmas bazaar Nov. 28 at Salem UMC, located adjacent to the new Village Feed Farm Store (formerly known as Double B Farm) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ham biscuits will be available all day; lunch will be served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Re-gifting store, crafts, baked goods and white elephant items will be sold.
PASTOR ANNIVERSARY
The Rev. Joseph Moore will celebrate his seventh anniversary as pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church during the 11 a.m. worship service Nov. 29. It will also be Women’s Ministry Sunday and evangelist Yvonne Jackson of The Arms of the Lord Ministries Church will be the guest preacher. A repast will follow the service.

The Nazareth Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 29 morning service will be held at 8 a.m. The church is located at 115 E. Church Street.
HOLIDAY BAZAAR
The Orange Presbyterian Church, 162 W. Main St, will host a Holiday Bazaar Dec. 4 from 1-8 p.m. and Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Items for sale include holiday crafts, jewelry, handmade gifts and a silent auction. Delicious homemade baked goods and white elephant items will also be sold. All proceeds will benefit Orange county Habitat for Humanity.

Somerset Christian Church, Rt. 20 in Somerset, will have their annual Christmas Bazaar, bake sale and Brunswick stew or chili lunch Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be handmade crafts, handmade goodies and tickets sold for a raffle drawing for over $500 in gift cards and handmade crafts.
