What’s up Jane?

Nazareth Baptist Church had wonderful morning and evening services, June 14, with the Rev. James Jackson and his wonderful choir from Union Baptist Church, Gordonsville. The members of Nazareth had their family who graduated or were promoted recognized for their achievement. Mrs. Marilyn Nelson’s grandson, Kendal Nelson of Chesterfield, received a presidential award. Mrs. Charlotte White did a wonderful job along with Mrs. Eve Davis in getting the children out. Some were from other churches but were grandchildren of Nazareth’s members.
Emanuel Baptist Church was blessed with their scholarship program Sunday. The Strother family of Madison blessed and uplifted the spirit singing the songs of Zion.
The youth, the youth!
There were so many at Booster Park along with their families. Awards were given out from four to 13. The coaches were given a signed ball by their teams. The Mariners and Braves had to play two games to make up. Their first game tied 15 - 15 and the second one-the Braves topped the Mariners 15 - 12. They will be going to State. Alliyah Hughes was proud of her accomplishments. She caught two high balls, one of which was her cousin’s. They live beside each other. They have earned good sportsmanship. (Oh boy!)
What kids will say!
Mother and daughter were in a car and mother tried to keep from hitting a squirrel that was running back and forth. Mother got a little fussy and said, “Come on! I don’t want to hit you, squirrel.“ The daughter said, “You know they don’t have a brain. They just have nuts on their mind.“
Three boys were bragging about their fathers. The first boy said, “My dad scribbled a few words on a piece of paper, called it a poem, and they gave him $50.“ The second one said, “My dad put a few words on paper, called it a song and got $100.“ The third boy said, “I got you beat. My dad put words on paper, called it a sermon and it took eight people to collect all the money!“
Have a blessed day!
