Tennis boys beat Caroline

Orange swept doubles play and split the singles matches to earn a 6-3 victory over Caroline Thursday in non-district boys tennis action.
In singles play, Brendon Chambers blanked Bobby Perez 10-0. Zach Upchurch beat Tyler Tingler 10-4. Tonto Duncan won his match with Jordan Chambers 10-6.
Caroline’s Mike Lee beat Hornet Ben Carter 10-6 and Cavalier Daron Hudson beat Orange’s Ron Lopez 10-4. Alonzo Howard beat Orange’s Max Correa 10-0.
In doubles play, Rob Johnson and Greg Baldwin had no trouble with Peters and Tingler, winning 10-1. Orange’s B. Chambers and Upchurch teamed to down J. Chambers and Lee 10-4. Aurichides and Breeden beat Howard and Yerby to complete the doubles sweep.
Orange improved to 4-2 overall and are off this week for spring break. The Hornets return to action Tuesday when they host Fluvanna in a Jefferson District matchup in Orange.
