Boucher wins flight at VSGA Womens’ Amateur

Orange County High School graduate and Longwood University rising sophomore Alexa Boucher finished sixth overall at the Virginia State Golf Association’s Womens’ Amateur stroke play championship at Meadowbrook Country Club in Richmond.
Thirty eight competitors were placed in four flights, playing 54 holes to determine a champion.
Boucher opened with a seven-over 78 the first round, but steadily improved her scores. The next round, she shot 75 and followed that with a 73 in the third round to finish sixth overall and win low gross in the second flight.
Lauren Greenlief of Oakton shot 72-68-70 for a three-day total 210 to win the event.
