Nick Bledsoe pitched six scoreless innings and hit a three-run homerun as the Orange County High School varsity baseball team remained undefeated with a 10-0 win over Chancellor Thursday.
The Hornets hosted the Chargers in the last game before spring break, improving their record to 9-0 in the non-district contest.
Orange jumped out to an early lead with a five-run first inning. The Hornets added another in the second and two more in the fourth before two in the sixth that ended the game early.
Bledsoe held the Chargers to three hits and struck out five.
Trey Maupin had two doubles, stole two bases and scored four times. D.J. Brown had two hits and three runs batted in.
Orange used a six-run fourth inning to break the game open and remain atop the Jefferson District Tuesday with a 7-2 win over visiting William Monroe.
Derek Justice allowed three hits and struck out 11 to keep the Dragons in check and earn the win for the Hornets (4-0 in the Jefferson District).
Maupin had a two-run double that broke the game open in the six-run fourth. Chris Bittner added two hits for the Hornets who had seven hits for the game.
Orange returns to action Friday when it visits Western and Tuesday when it hosts Fluvanna at Porterfield Park in Orange.
