This was another lively weekend for ball at Booster Park!
Starting with our youngest players, the t-ball teams had a busy schedule. The Dodgers and the Braves started off the t-ball action. The Red Sox then met with the Cardinals for a great game. The Red Sox also went head to head with the Dodgers. The Pirates played the A's and then the Orioles played the Pirates as well. Next came the Braves who took on the A's in an impressive game of ball. Last but certainly not least, the Cardinals played a fantastic game against the Royals. Surprisingly all of these games ended in a tie. Way to go, t-ballers! Keep up the hard work!
The minor league boys had an exciting weekend as well. The Braves took on the Yankees winning 13 to 7 and the Cubs faced the Nationals winning 5 to 4. All four of the teams are off to a great start and there are many more games to go this season. We can only wonder who will win the next one; there are so many amazing players.
Our major league team, the Nationals, met with the Greene County White Sox. Unfortunately, they returned with a loss, but as mentioned above, the season is young.
As for softball, the 10 and under team, the Rockies, played Madison and suffered a loss. The 12 and under girls, the Mariners, played a long, hot game against the Madison team and came out victorious winning 26-22. The 13- 16 year old girls played two games this weekend. They won the first one, 11-6, and tied the second one with each team scoring only three runs.
It was great weekend for ball at Booster Park and the surrounding counties. The weather was hot, the fans were cheering and kids were playing a sport we all love. Come join the fun next weekend!
