The Orange County High School girls tennis team had a similar week to their counterparts on the boys squad. The girls fell to Fluvanna Tuesday night 7-2 and lost last Wednesday against Western 9-0.
Tuesday, Rachel Donaldson lost to Tomko 10-7 in a match-up of top seeds. Gomez beat Orange's Megan Fowler 10-1, but Hornet Isabel Schuller beat Painter 10-7. Sites blanked Orange's Maddie Scott 10-0 and Scruggs topped Rebecca Eichmann 10-1. Crickenberger beat Brooke Chapman 10-1 to conclude singles play with the Flucos up 5-1.
In doubles, Tomko and Gomez beat Donaldson and Scott 10-6 and Sites and Crickenberger topped Painter and Chapman 10-4. Eichmann and Fowler teamed to beat Salter and Scruggs 11-9 for the Hornets' only other match win.
The Hornets host Charlottesville Tuesday in Orange.
