The Orange County High School boys tennis team dropped a pair of Jefferson District matches this past week.
The boys lost to traditional powerhouse Western Albemarle Wednesday and fell to Fluvanna Tuesday night in Orange.
In the 7-2 loss to the Flucos, top seed Daniel Myers beat Goldie 10-2, but Day beat Orange second seed Billy Knabe 10-6. Otten topped Orange's Zak Mason 10-4 and Herrick edged Juan Londono 11-10 in the closest match of the day. Welsh beat Daniel Kost 10-2 and Blevins topped David Woods 10-3, giving the Flucos five of six singles wins.
In doubles, Myers and Mason beat Goldie and Otten 10-4, while Day and Herrick edged Knabe and Londono 11-9 in another tight match. Welsh and Blevins beat Kost and Woods 10-5.
Wednesday, against Western, the Orange boys were swept in a 9-0 loss.
The Hornets are 3-5 overall and 1-5 in the district and return to action Tuesday with a match in Charlottesville.
