The Orange County High School boys tennis season ended last week with a pair of singles and doubles losses for the Hornets.
Earlier in the week, the Hornets had concluded their regular season with a 5-4 loss to Fluvanna in Palmyra.
Orange top seed Daniel Myers, fourth-seed Juan Londono and fifth-seed Daniel Kost each won their singles matches and Myers teamed with Zak Masom to win in doubles.
Finishing the season 3-9 in the district (5-10 overall), the Hornets were not among the top four Jefferson District teams and thus did not qualify for the district tournament.
However, Myers (9-3 individual record) was the district's second seed in the singles tournament and, with Masom (7-5), formed the fourth-seeded doubles team.
In district tournament doubles play, Myers and Masom fell to Western's Scot and Nelson in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
In tournament singles, Myers took the first set from Charlottesville's Angle 6-1 before dropping the next two 6-4 and 6-0 to bow out of the tournament.
Orange's season is now complete.
