The Orange County High School track teams will send a handful of athletes to the Region II meet Thursday after eight top-six finishes at last week's Jefferson District meet.

The Orange County High School teams were back on the track Wednesday in a Jefferson District tri-meet with Fluvanna and Charlottesville in Palmyra.
Orange County High School's varsity athletics programs wrapped up a successful fall campaign with a number of Hornets earning all-district, all-region and all-state accolades. Not surprisingly, a number of the OCHS field hockey players led the way.
Last Friday was senior night at Porterfield Park, and despite the cold weather, a respectable-sized crowd was on hand to support the Orange County Hornets (6-3, 5-1) varsity football team in their final home game of the regular season.
Orange County running back Isiah Ferguson had a career day last Friday at Porterfield Park–carrying the ball eight times for 57 yards and three rushing touchdowns, along with two catches for 24 yards and one receiving touchdown. What's more amazing is that the freshman was playing in just his second varsity football game!
This past Friday, the Orange County varsity football team performed well - defeating Madison County 44 to 19 in what was each team's final preseason game.

Last Friday, William Monroe's first-year varsity football coach Bob Sanford took his Dragons (0-7 overall; 0-4 district) into Orange County (3-4 overall; 2-2 district) looking for his first win of the season.

The Orange County High School track teams traveled to Albemarle Wednesday for a quad meet with the Patriots, Charlottesville Black Knights and Lynchburg's E.C. Glass Hilltoppers.

Hornets prevail in homecoming contest
The Orange track team traveled to Spotsylvania last Wednesday to compete against Spotsylvania, Caroline, and Chancellor.
Last Wednesday, the Orange track team traveled to Western Albemarle to compete against Western Albemarle, Charlottesville, St. Anne’s-Belfield, and Covenant. The boys had a great meet, placing third.
The Orange Track team had a busy week, hosting Senior Night on Wednesday then traveling to Tennessee for the Volunteer Track Classic Friday and Saturday.
